A nice trip in to New York today -- before some more snow on Sunday.

More Birds

The only living thing at the beach (besides one dog-walker) is the birds.  It's just too cold and windy!

Hooded Merganser

A very unique-looking duck I spotted on a chilly day is the Hooded Merganser - he must be wintering in the waters of Connecticut.

Cold

Cold weather at the shore -- the seagulls are hanging out on the jetty - trying to stay warm in the sun.

Williamsburg Bridge

The stately towers of the Williamsburg Bridge rise in the East River.  Winter's cold weather returned today -- back for the foreseeable future.

Blue Skies

One more day of blue skies and warmer weather before the cold  returns.  The blue sky is a great contrast to the dramatic marble sculpture I came across on Banker Street.

Yesterday

It rained all day today -- but at least yesterday was a beautiful day -- spring-like in fact!  A stunning view of Manhattan from Williamsburg  Brooklyn.

Melting and Snowing

We get a little melting and then some more snow - when will this end?!  I think I'm ready for spring!

Birds

The birdfeeder outside of my window has been very busy all winter - with so much snow and cold weather  -  I feel an obligation to keep it full.  The birds are very entertaining to me as well!

Ye Yacht Yard

Keeping watch over Ye Yacht Yard in Southport Harbor  --  with a few days of slightly warmer weather (above freezing) the ice in the harbor has broken up!

Take A Seat

Take a seat and let's wait for spring!  A little more snow today - 55 inches for the season so far according to the weathermen.

Too Much

It's getting a little out of hand -- too much snow!

Hibernation

Sugar Plum wants to hibernate for the rest of the winter!  Much more snow all day today -- another snow day!

All About The Snow

We're in a deep freeze and there are piles of snow everywhere -- that's the tale of winter this year!

A Snowy Beach

A snowy beach  --  how lovely!  There's something so odd about seeing a beach covered with snow --- waiting for spring.

It's just one of those years -- when it snows every other day.  More snow today - another 6 or 7 inches - and another snow day!

A Snow Creature

I found this little snow creature standing in the middle of a frozen pond deep in the woods of Weston.

February is here - the days are getting longer - can spring be too far off now?
