A View

This house on Saugatuck Island has an incredible view of Long Island Sound - it's just a little too close to the water.  When Hurricane Sandy hit last year it took quite a beating - and hasn't recovered yet!

Snowballs

A member of the hydrangea family - this 'Snowball Bush'  has a way of cooling one off -- on this incredibly hot day!

Down By The River

Today started out cool and cloudy - by late afternoon the sun came out and the temperature soared.  We're in for a heatwave over the next several days!

White Picket Fence

A beautiful grouping of indigo irises line a white picket fence along Gorham Avenue.  With all of the rain we're receiving lately - flowers are abundant!

The End Of The Parade

A Police motorcycle brings up the rear -- the end of a wonderful home-town parade.  The weather was absolutely perfect all day - on a lovely Memorial Day!

Flags Flying

The sun finally came back out today - now all the flags can be put out in preparation for Memorial Day tomorrow!

An Artichoke?

Waiting for my rhododendrons to bloom on a cold and rainy Saturday.  They look like artichokes at this point!

Rainy Day

Looks like we're going to have a rainy Memorial Day weekend - it's good for the flowers though.  Across the street are two lovely shades of rhododendrons - mine are just beginning to bloom.

I love the colors on the 'snack shack' at the Southport Beach - colorful and vibrant - even on a cloudy day.

Swan Baby

A stunning baby swan  -  born to a lovely family  -  along the Saugatuck River.

Along Main Street

A painting inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat is displayed in the window of Vince on Main Street.  Most of the stores on Main Street are featuring artwork as part of a street fair to take place next week. 

Feels Like Summer

What a gorgeous day today!  Starting to feel like summer - a good day for boating -- or kayaking!!

Dogwoods

The lovely Dogwood trees are in bloom all around town in shades of pink or white -- mine are white!

Belvedere Castle

High atop a hill in the middle of Central Park sits Belvedere Castle.  If you climb to the very top of the castle - you have a panoramic view of Central Park and Manhattan.

East 92nd Street

I always enjoy taking a stroll on the quiet, elegant streets of the Upper East Side of Manhattan - especially on a picture perfect spring day.

White Lilacs

Now that the rain has stopped - I was able to get outside and take a look at my lilacs -- I found my white lilacs have bloomed!!  I planted a small white lilac bush to replace a purple tree that had been badly damaged by all of the storms over the past few years - lovely!

Rainforest

It looks like a rainforest with tropical flowers  ---  just a rainy Thursday and my lilacs coming are out just in time for Mother's Day.

I was drawn to the color pink when I was picking out flowers for potting this spring -- and I'm happy with my decision!

We're On A Roll

We're on a roll with the spectacular spring weather!  We had to wait awhile for spring to begin - but now that it's here - we have had a long string of absolutely beautiful days. 

 The flowering trees at Stonebridge Nature Preserve were buzzing with bees today!!

A Taste of Holland on Washington Street in South Norwalk is a charming shop filled with anything you can imagine - straight from Holland. They have a great collection of Dutch food items and gifts - my favorites are the Delft blue canal houses - adorable!

The perfect spring weather continues.......the trees are at their most beautiful point - the colors are incredible!

Colors

We are enjoying incredible spring weather this week - could the sky be more blue?  The vivid pink and green of the Japanese crabapple tree are stunning against the azure blue skies!
