Little Birdhouse

The little birdhouse in the spring - just waiting for a visitor. Actually there was a little bird on top of the birdhouse - but by the time I got my camera ready - it flew away!

Furniture

Mid-century modern furniture is stacked to the rafters in a Brooklyn antiques store --  quite an eclectic gathering of items.

Pom Poms

As April winds down it seems as if every tree is in bloom - with either flowers or buds.  The buds on this tree look like chartreuse pom poms!

The Tulips

The tulips are out and they're spectacular -- the color is amazing - - well worth the wait.

Spring Has Arrived

Spring has officially arrived - - we have now had three days in a row with temperatures in the 60's!  It's a little late this year - - but we appreciate it more than ever.

White On White

A gorgeous white house and veranda on Rose Hill Road is accented by a lovely flowering tree.

Walking

A sunny spring day -- a fantastic time to go for a stroll around Southport Village.

Deer

The grass is getting greener and the deer families are out enjoying the springtime - - though it is a little chilly today - May is just a week away.

Designs

The delicate branches against the clear blue April sky make such a beautiful natural design.

Mellow Yellow

It seems as if everything has suddenly burst into bloom this week -- I have never seen such a vibrant yellow in my life!!

Springtime in Connecticut - - the world is reborn!

The Flag

A very dramatic day in the Boston Massachusetts area today -- luckily it ended with a suspect in custody.

Flowers

Some of my flowers have come out -- I'm still waiting for the tulips.

The new commercial development area in Storrs is quite impressive -- the restaurants and shops are a great addition to the UConn campus.

The rolling hills of Storrs - it was a lovely day on the campus of the University of Connecticut.

A dramatic planter filled with the beautiful symbol of spring --- sits on a doorstep in Bell Island -- catching the afternoon sunlight.

Why is it that the water in Long Island Sound is always crystal clear and a gorgeous turquoise hue when it's too cold for swimming?

A rainy Friday afternoon is the perfect time to stay inside and listen to some music  --  Urban Outfitters has a pretty good selection of vinyl (and turntables).

Spring Plantings

Everyone is getting their spring planting out -- I always love the colorful decorations on the front porch and stairway of this lovely Victorian in Bell Island.

Spring Has Sprung

With another warmish day today -- it really is beginning to feel like spring.  It's too bad I feel a cold coming on.

Rough Water

It felt almost like summer today -- the official temperature exceeded 80 degrees.  Luckily there was a strong seabreeze -- keeping it cooler near the shore.

They're Out

Finally -- the weather warmed up a bit today and the flowers are actually blooming!

The Tower

The sun was out today and the skies were blue  --  but the temperature is still just a little bit too cold  --  bring on spring.

Town Offices

I love this old brick building in Stockbridge -- the castle-like architecture is so charming.  What was once town offices is now just stores.

Tulips?

Well, the tulips are planted - now I'm just waiting for the weather to warm up -- then maybe the flowers will bloom.

Easter Baskets

Even though Easter is over - I like to keep the Easter baskets around for a few days - 'cause they're so pretty!
