Hanging Around

A very large seagull stands guard over the remaining piles of (dirty) snow at the beach.  The rain we had yesterday melted most of the snow on the ground - but a few stubborn piles remain. 

Waiting For March

This year - February has been a very cold and gray month.  Just one more day of February and in comes March --- and spring is almost here!

Lewis And Clark

The early morning sun hits my bronze Lewis and Clark statuettes  ---  giving them quite an elegant glow.

Turkey In The Snow

The turkeys have been wandering around my neighborhood all winter - I hope they are able to find enough food --- with all of the snow on the ground!

Stormy Skies

What started out as a somewhat pleasant day  --  turned a bit ominous in the late afternoon.  These dramatic clouds gave way to a bit of rain a few moments later.

Horseman Antiques

On Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn is Horseman Antiques - you can't miss it.  Their sidewalk display features sculptures, fountains, and I think I saw a bear!  Inside there are three floors of antiques; mid-century furniture, lighting, mirrors, but my favorites were the many stained glass pieces.

Trees Grow In Brooklyn

The trees along Pacific Avenue in Brooklyn are bare on a cold and windy February day.  Just one more month until the first day of spring! 

Underground

Today while I was transfering subway lines - wandering the tracks underground - I almost felt lost  -- then I saw this poster and somehow felt like I was right on track.

Sunny Start

It's a sunny start to a warmish day - though it's supposed to rain later.  Off to Manhattan  this afternoon for a change of scene!

Patio In The Snow

You would think that on such a nice sunny day - this patio would be in use --- but it's just too cold out today!

A magical shell on a frozen beach --- maybe I should have picked it up and winter would have turned into summer!

Shadows

With the warmer weather today - the snow has begun to melt a bit.  I don't mind it hanging around a little while - everything is so pretty with a layer of white.

Snow Removal

I was finally able to find someone to clear the driveway of snow - so I could get my car out of the garage after 3 days -- and go food shopping.

Love The Snow

Walking through the woods on a snowy day.  A family of white-tailed deer took a shortcut through our woods on a lovely snowy day.   We can't get around as well --- we're still snowed in as of 2pm. Where's that plow?

Blizzard of 2013

We woke up to a little bit of snow this morning ......... 20+ inches.  Needless to say we are snowed in today and tomorrow until we get plowed out!

A Light Dusting

A light dusting of snow overnight leaves a good medium for making turkey prints  -  they almost look like arrows.
