I love the antique green gate at Waveny Park -- the elaborate ironwork is weathered to perfection.

Sticking Around

The snow's been sticking around all week because it's been so cold!  More snowfall expected tomorrow - hopefully not much.

We had snow for most of the day though it didn't amount to much -- then the skies cleared at sunset!

Tiffany's

It's Christmastime in the city and the windows at Tiffany's are decorated beautifully.  Tiny snowy street scenes adorn each window at their Fifth Avenue store.

Rough Trade

Rough Trade - the new record store and performance space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn has some great artwork painted on the exterior walls!

Manhattan

The view of Manhattan from Williamsburg Brooklyn is incredible!

On a rainy day in New York City - a visit to Laduree on Madison Avenue will brighten things up!

Another piece of American art on view at Sotheby's - Native American.  This incredible fringed suede shirt - a stunning example of American craftsmanship!

Norman Rockwell

Today at Sotheby's there was an auction of important American Art - this painting by Norman Rockwell was among the items to be auctioned.  Expected to sell for 5 million or so -- I guess it's a little out of my price range!

Such a lovely day in November - 68 degrees - warm and sunny! A great day to spend at the beach -- I was enjoying the weather so much - I almost missed the sunset.

After yesterday's glorious weather - today was a bit dreary  --  though Sundays are always good for getting caught up on the weekend's New York Times.

Japanese Maple

It seems that most of the trees around town have lost their leaves by now -- but the Japanese Maples are at their peak - with bright orange, red and burgundy leaves!

There was an incredible sunset tonight - in fact - this has been a good week for sunsets. Maybe it's the weather.

Low tide at the beach - ripples in the sand - too cold to go in the water today!

Oh No!

Well - here it is 11/12/13 a special date -- and what happened today?  We had snow -- just a coating - it melted after a few hours - but I guess that means winter is on the way.
