I love viewing the holiday windows along 5th Avenue - every year Bergdorf Goodman has the most beautiful and imaginative windows of all!

Holiday Lights

A house in my neighborhood has the most amazing display of holiday lights.

Clear Blue Sky

A flock of geese flew directly over me today and I noticed how incredibly clear the azure blue sky was! 

New England Barn

A quiet week after Christmas -- though it seems every other day this week features snow.  An inch of snow that fell last night melted by mid-day - and now snow is predicted for Saturday as well.

Take A Walk

A nice quiet Boxing Day after the Christmas rush. There's nothing more relaxing than taking a walk in the solitude of one of  Aspetuck Land Trust's beautiful parcels of land in Weston.

Winter Sunshine

The sun shone brightly today - giving us some picturesque views along the Saugatuck River.  One more day until Christmas!

Pointsettia

The vibrant red poinsettia is even more beautiful with the contrasting pink flowers alongside them. The folks at Gilbertie's are very clever - in order to get to the Saturday Farmer's Market - you have to take a detour through the greenhouse!

Drama In The Sky

There was a heavy rain this morning - then - just before noon the sun broke out. The clouds to the north put on quite a dramatic show -- rolling away.

Good-bye Autumn

Winter officially begins tomorrow - it's been quite an eventful autumn - we'll have to see what winter brings!

Christmas Wreaths

It's time to finish getting all the Christmas decorations - I finally got my tree yesterday - put the lights on and started trimming it.  It always takes a few days to put all of the decorations on - it will get done in time for Christmas.

A Splash Of Color

It's been very gray and dreary in Connecticut for the past few days - especially considering what happened in Newtown last Friday.  I found a special place to take a walk in Weston today - it was beautiful and peaceful.

A bit of a chilly, drizzly day - but if you go into the greenhouse at Gilbertie's you are transported to a lush tropical wonderland.

A Christmas tree sits on a dock in the chilly Saugatuck River - Winter begins on Friday.

Winter Farmer's Market

The Westport Farmer's Market is being held at Gilbertie's Garden Center for the winter season - I love all of the greenery - great to make a homemade wreath.

Turkey On A Trampoline

The turkeys have been roaming the neighborhood - and they always bring a smile to your face when you see them - this one has decided to take a turn on our trampoline!

Compo Cove at Sunset

The sun casts a golden light on Compo Cove.  Many (if not all) of the houses along the cove were damaged during Sandy --  clean-up and rebuilding continues all along the shoreline in the tri-state area. 

Winter's Coming

You know winter is almost here when all of the boats at Compo Marina have been taken away -- there's only one boat left -- so winter must be coming soon.

Holiday Windows

Christmas is just two weeks away and festive decorations are all around us.  This cute shop in Southport always has a beautiful window display - I'll have to go in and take a look sometime.

The Rolling Stones!!!

The Rolling Stones played in Brooklyn last night in the third of  five concerts celebrating 50 years together.  It was an incredible show - they played all of their great classic songs - an historic and once-in-a lifetime experience!  They were fantastic!!

A Foggy Saturday

A foggy, rainy Saturday - but things will brighten up at the Rolling Stones concert tonight!  Hopefully I'll have some great pictures from Barclay's Center for tomorrow!

Storing Up

Now that the weather has turned colder - all the little squirrels are eating whatever they can find - storing up for the long winter.

Christmas is fast approaching - I haven't gotten my tree yet -- I'm thinking of getting a live tree so that I can re-plant it after Christmas.  I'll have to look into it!
