A Flock Of Turkeys

There was a large flock of large turkeys having breakfast in my backyard - so many I couldn't possibly get them all in the picture.

Sunset

A clear, cloudless sky led to a beautiful sunset this afternoon (at 4:21).  An hour or so later the full (almost) moon rose over Compo Cove - creating a stunning golden reflection in Long Island Sound.

No More Kayaking!

It looks like the cold winter-like weather is here to stay.  I was hoping to take my kayak out one more time for the season - but I haven't been able to.  It has to come home on Friday.

Books

With a little rain and snow falling today - it was a nice day to stay inside and check out the books in the Morgan Library.

Driftwood

Pieces of driftwood and other assorted debris - arranged on a beach in Rowayton - take on a sculptural quality.

The bright Pepsi-Cola sign in Long Island City is a familiar landmark on the East River across from Tudor City in Manhattan.

42nd Street

East 42nd Street and the Chrysler Building lit up at sunset - a gorgeous closing to the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Winslow Park

This colorful view through the trees from a knoll in Winslow Park reminds me of a Tiffany stained glass window.

Thanksgiving

It was a lovely sunny Thanksgiving Day - there was a little time before dinner to take a walk around town and enjoy the pleasant weather.

A Tuesday In November

Just a quiet Tuesday in November -- days away from Thanksgiving and the hustle and bustle of the Holiday Season to come.

82nd Street

The view down 82nd Street from the steps of The Metropolitan Museum of Art -- classic Manhattan.  Soon - Manhattan will have on it's 'holiday face' -- I can't wait to go holiday window shopping!

Walking Weather

Today was a nice day for a walk - sunny and cool autumn weather.  Whether you're walking along the East River on the John Finley Walk or along the Saugatuck River and Parker Harding Plaza - such a pleasant day!

Fishie

Our friend Fishie went to heaven today...........Good-bye Fishie........We'll miss you.

Garage

Even the garage of this lovely home on Bell Island has an incredible view of Long Island Sound.  Houses in and around Rowayton are still busy cleaning up after flood damage from Sandy.

Storm Debris

It's been well over 2 weeks since Sandy hit Connecticut - but I guess the owner of 'Wander Lust' just hasn't gotten around to retrieving his sailboat from the rocks in Bell Island.

Squirrelly

Squirrelly has found our pumpkins and made a two day feast out of the largest one.  I had to chase him away - he looked like he was getting rounder and rounder - storing up for the long winter.

Autumn Color

A cold drizzly day - but there is still a lot of autumn color to brighten things up!

Main Street

As many stores on Main Street in Westport remain closed because of damage from Super-Storm Sandy  --- I noticed two new stores have opened in the past week or so.  Jonathan Adler - an adorable home decoration and gift shop, and David's Teas - a charming tea shop!

The beach areas in and around Westport were flooded and sand poured into the streets and houses.  Cleanup begins at Old Mill Beach.

It didn't seem much like Halloween this year - Main Street in Westport was flooded and all of the stores were closed for days.  We did see a few trick-or-treaters though!

Well, the storm did come and it brought destruction to the shorelines of Connecticut,

  New York, and New Jersey. My street was blocked on both ends by downed trees.
