The tide was extremely low this morning at Old Mill Beach on a sunny but very blustery day.

I love the names of the streets in Brooklyn Heights.....Orange, Cranberry, Pineapple Streets, Grace Court, Joralemon Street......they're as beautiful as they sound.

The steel cablework on the Brooklyn Bridge makes an incredible linear design against the bright blue January sky.

This phone booth in Brooklyn Heights is a relic from long ago - I wonder if it still works?  I didn't check!

Elegance

I love this elegant townhouse that backs up to the Brooklyn Promenade -  you can look through the windows and imagine the incredible view.

Columbia Heights

These bicycles, parked outside a brownstone on Columbia Heights, look like they're ready to go for a spin around Brooklyn Heights on a beautiful spring-like day.

A January Stroll

It was pleasantly warm today - 50 degrees in January - we'll take it!  A perfect day to take a stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge and take in views of Manhattan.

Birdie

With everything covered in snow - this little sparrow was looking for some food (at my birdfeeder) on a drizzly day.

Winter Beauty

The Christmas decorations on my front porch look so pretty with a light dusting of snow - I think I'll leave them - they're the perfect Valentine decorations now.

Well, the first snow of the year came today - the Aspetuck River looks beautiful with a coating of white.

One Year Ago

I looked outside one year ago today - and this is what I saw.  While it is beautiful, and it was fun having so much snow last year - I really don't miss it!

Sixty-One Degrees in January

The weather today felt more like May not January - the temperature reached  61 degrees. The beach was packed with people (and dogs) taking a stroll.  This piece of dock, which appeared in low tide, must have washed up in one of the big storms of 2011.

January has brought the cold winter weather - Sugar Plum would rather be inside next to her tree than outside in the cold today.

Little Bird

Well, I guess the holiday season is winding down - soon it will be time to take the Christmas tree down - I think I'll leave it up a few more days to enjoy.
