It was a perfect day for boating today - these buoys that have washed up over the years -now make a wonderful sculpture on the roadside in Bell Island.

Beach-Combing

The beach at Pine Point in Rowayton is a wonderful place to go beach-combing. The recent storm washed up all sorts of sea glass and shells - however it destroyed the seawall that has been standing for as long as I can remember.

It was a peaceful day  - one spent reflecting on the 10th anniversary of the bombing of The World Trade Center.  Summer is still holding on - so there is still time to enjoy the perfect weather that this time of year brings.

This beautiful young deer took a stroll through my yard today.  The deer in my neighborhood have found  that their path is obstructed by tree that fell in the hurricane two weeks ago - we'll have to take care of that!

The Sun is Back

After a week filled with rain - the sun did return today and it turned out to be a beautiful day.

Well   ---   my daughter needed to use the computer because she put off doing her homework - so I missed yesterday's post.  This flock of wild turkeys ran through my yard yesterday.  It was a good day for ducks, geese and turkeys.  Maybe we'll see a little more sun today.

Rainy Day

With chilly temperatures and rain coming down all day - it was a perfect day to pick out a book and spend the day reading.

Labor Day

Everyone took a day off today to relax.  This  huge piece of driftwood washed up along the beach near the Compo Marina during Hurricane Irene.

Finally!!!

After surviving a week without electricity or water - this electric crew traveled all the way from Florida to restore the power to my neighborhood in Connecticut........ Relief...........and Thank you.......

Compo Beach in Westport was devastated by the high tide, wind and waves of

the storm. Much rebuilding will be needed in order to bring the beach back to it's beauty.
